Students across Canada can now participate in Dr. Roberta Bondar’s nature photography challenge in their journey to EcoSchools certification.

Registration for the 2020-2021 school year is now open to all schools in Canada for the first time in EcoSchools history! Plus, we’ve launched a new online certification application and introduced modifications to all EcoSchools actions during COVID-19.

EcoSchools Canada has joined international student activism non-profit organization, Take Action Global, to support nearly 500,000 youth as they take action for the environment by studying and finding solutions to the climate change crisis.

This past school year, students across the country were invited to participate in the Young Reporters for the Environment Canada competition. We received incredible submissions showcasing outstanding youth talent and a drive to take climate action through storytelling. Learn more and see the winning submissions!

This April marked the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and the EcoSchools community was there to connect, learn about nature, and take climate action.

In response to the serious directives around COVID-19 across the country, including the ongoing prolonged closure of all schools across Canada, EcoSchools Canada has developed a strategy to support and recognize schools certifying with the program this year.

After careful consideration and consultation, and with the wellness and safety of our community in mind, the EECOM Conference Steering Committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming EECOM Conference in Toronto.
