Back in January, we challenged the EcoSchools community to flex their creative muscles by designing artwork for a brand-new EcoSchools Canada t-shirt, and WOW, did they respond!

With nearly 700 submissions from students, teachers, principals, and parents, this contest proved to be one of the most popular in EcoSchools history, and clearly shows the passion and dedication for environmental learning and action in the EcoSchools community. Thank you!

And now, without further ado…

We’re thrilled to announce that the winner of the T-Shirt Design Contest is Hetal Patel, a teacher at Grenoble Public School in Peel District School Board, who will be receiving 10 t-shirts for herself and her EcoTeam! Congratulations!

Why we love it

Hetal’s clever original submission shows a pollution-wracked, barren landscape juxtaposed next to the healthy, sustainable, and environmentally-conscious world we’re all working to make a reality. We think the shirt’s aspirational message of hope is a perfect reflection of the EcoSchools community’s shared goals. Way to go!

A showcase of creativity

There were so many other fantastic designs submitted by students and educators that we knew we had to put together a gallery of some of our favourites:

How can I get an EcoSchools t-shirt for myself, my students, or my EcoTeam?

T-shirts will be available for purchase for everyone beginning in September 2020. We’ll be providing reminders via email and social media to let you know all the details.

A big thanks once again to everyone who participated in the 2020 T-Shirt Design Contest!
