Keep pollution out of the air by walking, biking, or bussing to school!
Walking, biking, or taking the bus to school are great ways students, teachers, and members of school communities can be active, get more fresh air, improve mental health, and reduce the number of cars on the road that produce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. St. John XXIII Catholic Elementary School in Mississauga, Ontario, took action this past November and December as part of the EcoSchools program by inviting everyone at their school to participate in a Walk to School campaign.

A new video explores best practices for carton recycling at school
This year, EcoSchools Canada partnered with the Carton Council of Canada to launch a new video on proper carton recycling in schools. The video, available in English and French, features EcoTeam members from The Toronto French School as they explore tips and best practices for responsibly disposing of beverage cartons.

EcoSchools Canada announced yesterday certification results for the 2021-22 school year. 1,062 schools across Canada have been certified as EcoSchools or recognized as Participants in recognition of their environmental achievements.
