Are you a student interested in entering the Bondar Challenge?

The Bondar Challenge is an opportunity for students to learn about the art of photography and videography while discovering new perspectives on nature through a camera lens. The challenge is designed for students aged 6-18. Student entries will be judged in one of three age categories: 6-10; 11-14; or 15-18.

Objectives of the competiton

  • To capture something in the environment or an ecosystem that reflects the theme of “Connecting with the Natural Environment” and is artistically attractive when photographed.
  • To communicate an understanding of what aspect of the photograph or video makes it a strong artistic image and what scientific elements of the natural environment are shown in the image.
  • To improve the photography and videography skills of the participant.
  • To increase understanding of the limitations of photography and videography.
  • To encourage further learning after the school program experience.
