The top three winners in all categories (Article, Photo, and Video) for both the Age 11-14 and Age 15-18 competitions will be featured on the YRE website, and announced nationally through EcoSchools.ca, the EcoSchools newsletter, and Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram channels. You’ll be an instant EcoSchools star!

Special Recognition

National Geographic 10x Binoculars

To recognize the inspiring winning submissions, the first-place entries in each category, both for ages 11-14 and 15-18, will receive National Geographic 10x binoculars. These binoculars are intended to support curiosity, biodiversity identification, and foster gratitude towards the land during outdoor exploration.

International YRE

The winners of the International Young Reporters for the Environment competition will be awarded with diplomas and the winning entries will be published internationally on the online platform Medium and Climate Tracker. The first place winners will also be published on the YRE International website.
