- Classroom discussions can make use of our Population Dynamics and The Impacts of Environmental Disturbances on the Population Dynamics of an Ecosystem lesson plans as-is or as a guiding framework.
- Similarly, you can weave in our learning activity of interviewing an environmental activist to learn about what they do and their perspectives on engaging their communities.
World Fisheries Day: November 21, 2019
- Check out the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s page to learn about the importance of Canada’s aquatic habitats and how they interact with ecosystems all over the world.
- Adapt our World Water Day media campaign lesson plan as a way of sparking discussions and insight into the importance of water conservation and management.
- Discover our useful campaign kits on the Great Lakes and Water Awareness and Action to examine your local connection to water sources and take action in your school community.
Buy Nothing Day: November 29, 2019
- Buy Nothing Day is celebrated the day after U.S. Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday. It’s purpose is to raise awareness about excessive material consumption and challenge people to consider their needs and their place in commercial systems. Learn more here.
- Load up on lesson plans by examining how we can tread a little lighter on the planet, developing an environmental talk show to discuss important issues, and looking at how our consumer choices affect the sustainability of natural resources.
