This year, we have made a few changes to the online certification application which we hope will make the process of completing your application and uploading documents easier and more streamlined.
The main changes are as follows:
Fewer portfolio documents to upload
You will no longer be required to upload portfolio documents for the following questions:
- Platinum Yearly Planner (PLATINUM ONLY)
- 1.1 – Teamwork & Leadership – Yearly Planner
- 1.10 – Teamwork & Leadership – Program Visibility (PLATINUM ONLY)
- 4.4 – School Ground Greening – broader impact
- 5.1 – 5.7 – Curriculum
- 6.1 – 6.4 – Environmental Stewardship
Simplified instructions and questions
In order to streamline the certification application, we’ve added more checkboxes and drop-downs and decreased the number of text boxes.
New Platinum Yearly Planner deadline
The Platinum Yearly Planner deadline has been moved to the last Friday in January and is no longer in November.
Changes to EcoSchools recognition
In the spirit of innovation, we’re adjusting how we provide recognition to certified EcoSchools for their amazing achievements each year.
In an effort to reduce the ecological impact of our program, we will no longer be providing physical recognition plaques to schools. Instead, we’ll be focusing on exploring new digital recognition tools that will maximize the fun and flexibility of what a certification celebration can be for everyone. More details will be available later in the year.
