It’s been an exhilarating Earth Month as EcoSchools, environmental organizations, and communities have come together to organize clean ups, run campaigns, and promote sustainability.

Here’s a snapshot of some fantastic Earth Month activities from our Twittersphere:

A big congratulations and thank-you to EcoSchools running Earth Month campaigns! Remember, you can still claim any green campaigns or activities that are taking place after the April 27 certification deadline! Find more details here.

Earth Day Highlights

Of course, the grand finale of Earth Month is Earth Day, which takes place annually on April 22! This year, Ontario EcoSchools was pleased to participate in Gen-Earth’s Earth Day Celebration outside Toronto City Hall in Nathan Phillips Square.

From our booth in a small village of pop-up tents, we were thrilled to engage with over 2,000 attendees, including other green organizations, local businesses, and environmental activists. Our Executive Director Lindsay Bunce, CSViamonde teacher Mathieu Morin, and a small group of EcoTeam members shared the main stage to speak about the importance of environmental action, education, and understanding.

With a week left in Earth Month, we encourage you to keep showcasing your amazing green projects, events, and efforts on social media and tagging us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
