Certification Application
Celebrate your school’s achievements by sharing your eco-initiatives in your certification application. Submit early to avoid the rush and slower uploading time during the week of April 29. Important: For each question in your certification application, remember to save your text before uploading your portfolio document.
Claim May/June Activities
If your school is doing field trips, class projects, or campaigns after April 29, they can still be claimed in your online application. You will need to submit planning notes and the date the activity will take place before the deadline.
School visits
This year’s visits are in the works! We have hired 27 assessors to visit schools, meet EcoTeams, and celebrate accomplishments. For a general overview on school visits, click here. For information on school visits or if you are unsure if your school is receiving a visit, please contact your board representative.
EcoAction Challenge
Keep the green energy going by registering now in the 2016 EcoAction Challenge and participating between May 16-20. Your school can win up to $1000! Participating schools can also claim EcoAction Challenge activities in their certification application by submitting planning notes and including the title #EcoAction2016. Please carefully review the criteria for all six sections and claim your chosen action in the section that is the best fit. Some examples include:
- Student-led assembly (Teamwork + Leadership)
- School-wide lights off campaign (Energy Conservation)
- Waste-free lunch blitz (Waste Minimization)
- School planting or mulching day (School Ground Greening)
- Class nature hike (Curriculum)
- Walk to school day (Environmental Stewardship)
