First of all, a hearty thanks to the 1,481 schools who registered and completed their EcoReviews by January 29th. We look forward to learning more about your eco initiatives over the coming months.

To help you build on your eco-efforts thus far, here are some upcoming events.

1. Earth Hour: Schools Celebrate March 7-11

Earth Hour falls on March 19th this year, the Saturday following March break. Many schools are celebrating the week ahead: March 7-11th! Be sure to tweet and post to us about the activities your school is taking part in. See our Earth Hour kit and activity sheet for ideas you can implement at your school.

2. World Water Week (in Canada): March 21st-27th

Celebrate World Water Week in March! The official World Water Day is March 22nd, but many schools celebrate the whole week long. Read our latest article for new resources and a watershed grant that schools can apply for.

3. EcoSummit: April 5th

Ontario EcoSchools is excited to host it’s first-ever Youth EcoSummit this April. As this is the first EcoSummit, schools will be able to attend on invitation only. We’ll keep you posted on details and share what we’ve learned along the way.

4. EcoAction Challenge: May 16-20

Our webpage has been updated with the newest event information. Never too early to start dreaming and planning! Registration officially opens at the beginning of March.

Stay tuned: We also have three expert webinars coming up to help you expand your EcoSchools program and deepen environmental learning with timely topics. You can register for the first of these webinars, Pollinators and Citizen Science in Schools (Wednesday March 9th), on our expert webinar page this week.
