Dig deep into environmental education by making connections between subject areas and divisions.

Tips:

• Create a whole school theme for environmental learning and all grade levels to teach a class linked to the theme – for example, water awareness, monarch butterfly conservation, or a climate change focus.
• Expand environmental learning into disciplines beyond the long-standing connection to science. Incorporate math, art, and languages, and cross-pollinate between the disciplines to create rich engagement.
• In secondary schools, work on cross-disciplinary planning and inter-departmental coordination to create strong learning opportunities.
